Social Businesship
Social Businesship is the result of the union of: plans, efforts, proposals and actions that are born together with the community organizations, the State and other actors to meet the social nature needs, starting from the development of company practices where the target is the well-being of people.
The program is an alliance among Alcaldía de Medellín, Gobernación de Antioquia, Institute for the Development of Antioquia (IDEA), Strategic Plan of Antioquia (Glides), Federación Antioqueña of NGO, University Eafit and the Italian Consortium Gino Matareli in order to develop the project Promotion of Social Sustainable Companies in Medellin and Antioquia 2006-2007, produced by the Federación Antioqueña of NGO.
The idea is to create companies departing from the beginning of well-being of people, having in mind the features of a social company:
• It is based on supportive values.
• It has stable continuing production of goods and/or services.
• It is specialized in the assistance of the service or manufacturing of the product.
• It reinvests the economic profit (they are used for the progress of the associates, the company and the community).
• It produces goods and services of social profit (what it sells helps to solve a need for the community).
• It has a purpose of general interest (the community recognizes the importance of the company wants it and values it).
• It is innovative.
The kinds of social company that can exist on the market are:
• Labor integration of persons excluded from formal work.
• Services to the persons.
• Consortiums.
To whom is it directed?
The program Social Businesship is directed to the inhabitants of the department of Antioquia who aim to social innovative company.
Requirements
• To be an inhabitant of Antioquia.
• To have an innovative idea to create a social company.
• To bear in mind the features of a social company.
