Training for the Work
The program Training for the Work is an educational process that has the objective of training people in skills, workmanship and technical knowledge for the performance of a productive activity, art, employment or office.
The principles of this program are: relevance (it seeks that the offered training answers to the economic and social realities of the country), quality (institutions with pedagogic approaches that guarantee the integral training), flexibility (institutions that answer to the educational needs) and cover (education directed to the population of low resources).
Training for the work has two strategic lines:
• Training of young people: 12.000 young people of economic level 1, 2 and 3 of Medellin who have lived conflict situations, have the opportunity to be educated for the professional training and to carry out work practices. Also they receive training in skills for the entrepreneurship in order to wake up the motivation towards the creation of companies.
• Adults' training: the adults older than 30 years of the levels 1, 2 and 3 of the Sisben, resident in Medellin, can access to educational programs that allow them to create their fami or microcompany, to link to Cultura E and to recover the self-esteem and the labor confidence.
To whom is it directed?
The training of young people is directed to persons of economical level 1, 2 or 3 of Medellin, who are among 16 and 29 years of age and have the seventh year of schooling as a minimum.
The training for adults is directed to persons of economic level 1, 2 or 3 of Medellin, older than 30 years and that have the fifth year minimum of primary in schooling.
Requirements
Training of young people
• To live in the municipality of Medellin.
• To belong to the economic level 1, 2 ó 3.
• To have as a minimum the seventh year of schooling or the finished baccalaureate.
• Not to belong to programs of reintegration or to have hanging problems with the justice.
• Not to be working or studying during the day.
• Not to have belonged to other programs of training for the work.
Every pupil will receive during a school year a total of 1.200 hours of training of the following way:
• 280 hours in integral human being development training.
• 480 hours of training in specific technical or cultural area.
• 440 hours in work practice.
• additional Supports: money for transporting, snack, educational implements and psychosocial assistance.
Adults' training
• To be an inhabitant of Medellin.
• To belong to the economic level 1, 2 ó 3 of the Sisben.
• To have a minimum the fifth year of primary of schooling.
The areas of training are directed to the marketing, the processed food, the dressmaking and the commerce.
